Success stories

  • Team IUVAS
  • Moritz Knoblauch, David Fehrenbach, Sinan Denemec of IUVAS

IUVAS offers a new drinking aid to help those with swallowing disorders drink more easily, without fear of choking. It allows the patient complete emptying of the cup, without bending his head. Thus, the cup prevents pneumonia, since the lungs do not fill with fluid. In the MedTech Bootcamp 2014, IUVAS further developed their prototype and business model and presented it in front of investors. Since then, the team receives the EXIST grant and is close to serial readiness of its prototype. Furthermore, the three founders managed to get on the famous Forbes list of the European "30 under 30".
  • Yannik Schreckenberger, Marc Tiedemann, Yunus Uyargil, Sebastian Tilch of heartbeat

In the field of medical solutions heartbeat develops an innovative information system for the documentation and evaluation of medical interventions. With heartbeat ONE, the team around Yannik Schreckenberger digitalizes patient surveys and measures the success rate of operations. In the MedTech Bootcamp 2014, the founders further developed their revenue model and presented it in front of investors. At the beginning of 2016, the start-up received financing in the upper six-figure range.

  • Team Reactive Robotics
  • Simon Spiegel, Christian Anton, Helfried Peyrl, Alexander König of Reactive Robotics

The start-up Reactive Robotics builds robots for very early mobilization (VEM) with its patented, modular technology. Their device will be used in gait rehabilitation of neurological patients and in orthopaedic patients after joint replacement. The method leads to shorter treatments and better chances of recovery. In the MedTech Bootcamp 2014, the team around Alexander König further developed their business model and got into contact with investors. The founders now have a strategic investor on board and can bring the prototype to market maturity.
  • Johannes Jacubeit of Lifetime

The app Lifetime improves the communication between physician and patient and enables patients to keep an overview of their own health. The data can be exchanged easily and without internet between physician and patient app via a small hardware device called LifeHub. The patient saves his data on his smartphone and maintains complete control over it. In the MedTech Bootcamp 2015, the team around Johannes Jacubeit refined the pitch and further developed their revenue model. At the end of 2015, a group of investors around the "High-Tech-Gründerfonds" and the "Innovations- und Förderbank Hamburg" participated with a seven-digit seed round in the business.
