Get first hand insights from our most successful entrepreneurial scientist alumni Dr. Luisa Buinhas (Vyoma), Felix Fischer (Reverion) and Shyam Srinivasan (Dymium).

Three successful founders will talk about their journey in which they transferred their scientific results into very successful start-ups that have the potential to disrupt new Space, Medtech and the Energy industry. Ask them about their challenges and learnings on the way and what is crucial to master the transition.

Vyoma “Your satellite safety is our first priority”

Vyoma is on a mission to solve one of the big issues humanity faces today: the problem of space debris threatening active satellites in orbit. With space cameras paired with ML, Vyoma ensures real-time mapping of space objects and safe satellite operations. In short, Vyoma provides the critical infrastructure needed for the space industry as our orbits get 10-100x busier in the next decade.

Dr. Luisa Buinhas, Co-Founder, Chief Program Officer

Luisa holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering (from the University of the German Federal Armed Forces) and a Master’s degree (TU Delft), also in Aerospace Engineering. She was involved in mission studies for satellite constellations for six years for DLR, in Germany, and spent six months at MIT as a research intern. She holds an Amelia Earhart Fellowship from 2016 and is part of the Space Traffic Management technical committee of the International Astronautical Federation. Currently, she oversees the space program at Vyoma and is responsible for system engineering developments.

Reverion “We are developing the key technology for a 100% renewable energy supply.”

Reverion GmbH is a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich. The start-up is developing the technology, which was successfully validated as part of a research project, to commercial maturity and is marketing it as a plant manufacturer. In April 2023 Reverion received 8.5 million euros for the entry into series production of power plants of the future.

Felix Fischer, Co-Founder & COO

Trained energy and process engineer, now COO and managing director of Reverion in the fast paced start-up environment. Highly motivated to manage the day-to-day business and keep the company running.

Dymium “Reducing the global recurrence of kidney stones.”

Dymium is a MedTech spin-off from the Technical University of Munich that has developed a novel pair of medical devices for the virtually residue-free removal of urinary stone fragments.

Shyam Srinivasan, Co-Founder & Tech Lead

Shyam Srinivasan completed his master’s degree in biomedical computing at TUM and a diploma in Medical Device Regulatory Affairs at Uni Augsburg. He made the jump from research to entrepreneurship with a post-doc, doctoral researcher and a former UnternehmerTUM consultant to create Dymium.
