DataBrain Meetup: Audio Intelligence Technology
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Highlight Towers-25-Community Space

Presentation#1
Title: Audio Intelligence: Next Generation Technology for Speech-based Human-Machine Interaction

Abstract: Although speech recognition and dialogue management systems have paved their ways to the household utilities (such as Alexa, Google assistance), still they lack understanding of emotions, for example, and thus lack empathy and emotional competence. audEERING, the pioneer in this field, will present the capabilities of paralinguistic speech analysis for enabling machines to extract information such as emotions, age, gender, mental and physical diseases (e.g., depression, cold) from speech signals. The technology builds on an innovative combination of machine learning, intelligent signal processing, and psychology. The presentation will address the capabilities and limitations of such technology, as well as use cases. Ethical and privacy concerns which can arise by using such technology will be addressed and responsibilities of users and technology providers are discussed. The presentation aims to give people an interesting insight into the possibilities of intelligent, paralinguistic audio analysis. It is intended for all audiences and no substantial technical background is required.
