Climate-KIC is the EU’s largest public private partnership addressing climate change through innovation to build a zero carbon economy. We address climate change across four priority themes: urban areas, land use, production systems, decision metrics and finance. Education is at the heart of these themes to inspire and empower the next generation of climate leaders. We run programmes for students, start-ups and innovators across Europe via centres in major cities, convening a community of the best people and organisations. Our approach starts with improving the way people live in cities. Our focus on industry creates the products required for a better living environment, and we look to optimise land use to produce the food people need. Climate-KIC is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.

ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest green business idea competition with participation from more than 35 countries. The mission? Unlock the world’s green business potential and accelerate innovations that tackle climate change. To do that, we need to find the best sustainability ideas. This can be anything from innovation in renewable energy, a sustainable transition in the food chain, a mind shift in urban mobility or any other way to tackle climate change. Don’t worry if you have a business plan just yet, or even if your idea is still on the back of a napkin.

If selected, we’ll help you develop that idea with an intensive two-day bootcamp, six follow-up coaching sessions, and conclude with a national pitching competition located in Munich. The top three teams in Germany will then move on to the Grand Final in Edinburgh, Scotland where they will compete for up to €10,000 and direct entry to the Climate-KIC Accelerator programme.

BOOTCAMP: June 7-8, 2018

NATIONAL FINAL: July 25, 2018
