UnternehmerTUM could win HypoVereinsbank as new partner

HypoVereinsbank has entered into a partnership with UnternehmerTUM, the center for innovation and business creation at the Technische Universität München (TUM). Through the TechFounders accelerator programme of UnternehmerTUM, the bank will have direct access to start-ups and talents in the technology sector who will develop prototypes for financial services and products to meet the bank’s requirements. UnternehmerTUM will provide full infrastructure required and will support the development process through extensive coaching and expert know-how.

"We at HypoVereinsbank early on recognised the relevance of digitalisation and reacted to the corresponding changes of customer demands. First perceptible paybacks of this strategy are already becoming apparent. Digitalisation represents an integral part of our corporate strategy and involves all our business segments. And we will continue to take innovative approaches in future. This includes systematic collaboration with the global high-tech community, start-ups and academic institutions in order to develop new solutions for our customers and further enhance our efficiency," explains Boris Scukanec, Chief Digital Officer and Head of Corporate Development at HypoVereinsbank.

The TechFounders accelerator programme of UnternehmerTUM offers innovative start-ups in the technology field access to a unique infrastructure and initial funding of €25,000. Main advantages for the start-ups are the comprehensive coaching and mentoring provided by UnternehmerTUM in collaboration with HypoVereinsbank. "Thanks to TechFounders, we are able to bring the innovational culture and creativity of start-ups together with the expertise and experience of established businesses," says Lorenz Hartung, Partner and Managing Director of TechFounders, the accelerator programme of the Center for Innovation and Business Creation of the TUM. "This puts in place ideal prerequisites for the development of innovative products and services alongside customer- and bank-specific needs that our new partner, HypoVereinsbank, will be able to implement for their clients."
