We at TUM Venture Labs believe that real innovation happens when excellent research meets entrepreneurial courage. As a joint initiative of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and UnternehmerTUM, we support technology-driven founding teams on their journey from the lab to the world - with specialized labs in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, biotech, and sustainability.
At Venture Lab AI, everything revolves around the technologies of the future: we bring together AI talents with research, startups, and investors, creating an environment where real breakthroughs can happen.
As an AI Pipeline Manager, you will become a central part of this ecosystem. You will discover new teams, guide them on their path to founding, and help to unlock their potential. If you’re excited to work closely with deep tech, entrepreneurship, and shaping the future, then we look forward to getting to know you.
Start-up Selection & Funding Support: You’ll screen exciting AI start-ups and review their materials (e.g. pitch decks). As part of our selection committee, you’ll help identify promising teams to receive funding such as prototyping grants – shaping the future of innovation from day one.
Mentoring & Support: You’ll be a reliable point of contact for the start-ups we support – checking in regularly, listening to challenges, and coordinating helpful resources. You don’t need to be a tech expert – just someone who’s curious, empathetic, and organized.
Keeping Things on Track: Admin & Coordination: From preparing contracts to coordinating payments with our accounting team – you help ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll keep our overview documents tidy and up to date, and help maintain structure in a dynamic environment.
Events & External Representation: You’ll attend AI-related events and represent AI+ (or AI Nation) with confidence and enthusiasm. Whether you're networking or listening in on the latest trends – you’ll be a visible part of our mission.
Partner Collaboration: You’ll work closely with partner initiatives like K.I.E.Z – especially when organizing joint programs or supporting smooth handovers between teams and institutions.
Strategic & Operational Contributions: In addition to daily operations, you’ll contribute to internal projects – such as setting up a CRM system or developing new support formats for start-ups based on recurring needs. Your input matters here.
You have successfully completed a degree in social sciences, economics, or a related field.
You are at the beginning of your professional journey and are motivated to take on responsibility in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
An interest in the start-up ecosystem, emerging technologies, and innovation support drives you—even if your background isn’t in tech.
You work in a structured, independent, and reliable way, and you take initiative to see tasks through to completion.
Building relationships with founders, researchers, and partner organizations excites you, and you enjoy supporting others in making ideas happen.
You are curious, open to learning new tools and topics, and able to stay composed and focused even in high-paced situations.
You bring initial experience from internships, part-time jobs, or student projects—ideally in organization, project coordination, or communication.
You speak and write German fluently (at least C1 level) and have a good command of English (at least B2 level).
Responsibility from day one: As Pipeline Manager, you’ll take on a key role in selecting, supporting, and coordinating AI start-ups within the AI Nation program.
Meaningful work in an innovation ecosystem: You’ll help identify, empower, and showcase entrepreneurial potential in the AI space – working closely with start-ups, technology, and the future of innovation.
Flat hierarchies & ownership: You’ll work independently within a clear framework – with trust in your abilities, open communication, and a collaborative team environment.
Steep learning curve guaranteed: You’ll receive a personal development budget and grow through hands-on project responsibility and continuous learning on the job.
Insights & network: You’ll operate within a dynamic environment of AI start-ups, universities, innovation programs, and investors – becoming part of a strong, forward-looking network.
Flexible benefits: If desired, we support you with a Wellpass membership and the option of a JobRad (bike leasing program).
